Watching ! Such A Very Good Idea

Those e-mails telling me if I care to track an item I had ordered , I have always ignored. My attitude has been , when it gets here fine, my watching it won't help it arrive any faster.
If this has been your attitude also, read on and learn with me how valuable watching can be.
A small group of students that I meet with had decided to purchase workbooks to go along with our subject we are studying. A mother volunteered to place the order for the workbooks and I received an e-mail from her a few days later saying , our workbooks were in San Antonio .
That is nice I thought.
When she delivered the workbooks to our class she had this story to report.
She had watched the tracking of our order up to a large city in our state. Then the tracking order read : box damaged, shipment destroyed. This after waiting a week for our shipment to arrive, she called the company sending out the shipment and made them aware of our shipments fate.
The company responded as most would desiring good PR and quickly sent out another shipment , this time at a faster delivery specification .
They probably would have done the same , when the cities postal facility notified them of the damaged freight, but just when that would be it is hard to say.
Because the mother had been watching the tracking status of our books the students probably received them a week quicker than they would of other wise.
The word of my testimony is : that the LORD is faithful to reinforce His Word of Truth to our hearts by the situations He allows to happen in our lives. Watching , as in Revelation 4:2 the church in Sardis is commanded to do has been the subject of our morning Bible study time. What a relevant situation in the natural to help us remember to do what we should do in the spiritual.
Praise the LORD !

And there is hope, Jer 31:17

A Joyful Bible Study.
I hope you are able to read the Bible with your child. Our study time brought us to Rev 3:1-6 recently. The first and second day that I read the passage I did not see much fruit. I was surprised when again I felt this was to be our Bible reading. I am so glad that I did not do my own thing.
vs 2, Be watchful, and strengthen the things that remain, (a fragment of the verse.)
I had read (via Blue Letter Bible ) by clicking the list of commentaries ( that is the L beside the verse ) David Gusik's find about the place called Sardis . When I related this to my daughter she found the whole passage much more interesting.
Then I invited her to help me discover how this mistake that Sardis had made could help us today. It was very evident that it was Sardis' over confidence that they were secure in what they were doing that was their downfall.
And how could it be that a church could be dead and still alive ?
As she shared with me her understanding of doing things for the sake of doing them and not really doing them from the heart as unto the LORD, I knew, she at last was returning unto her own borders.
There is one thing that she reckgonizes as something that she must do, not as a ritual but engage her mind and heart into . That is when we partake of what is commonly called Communion. When we eat of the bread and drink of the juice to specifically remember what Jesus did for us on the cross.
